The Local History Loan Box comprises a number of elements, including background information, costume, photos, handling objects, stories and access to 3 maps and a timeline along with suggested activities. 

1).Discover Dorking: Dorking’s Story Through Time – an introductory bookletwith Teacher Guidance Notes

2). Four colour coded popper wallets, one for each of 4 topics:

  • Dorking’s Adventurer, William Mullins –the 1600s and 1700s
  • Lord Ashcombe’s Teeth – 1850 to early 1900s
  • Ralph Vaughan Williams,  making music in the hills and halls – the 1930s to 1960s
  • Dorking’s Market Town – 800 years of history
