… is to build on the efforts and achievements of those who came before us; to stand on the shoulders of giants and not in their shadows. Throughout time we come to understand that no man, woman nor child is an island.
… is to be mindful of the opportunities and privileges granted us; to take pride in our privilege and be mindful that with each step we take on this journey of life we are living opportunities for those around us.
… is to hold the past in mind, feet firmly in the present, remaining present and responsive, in order to take steps into the future… to shape the future for generations to come.
… is to ask of ourselves in our daily living – daily practice and daily ritual – what legacy would we like to live and what legacy would we like to leave behind?
Dorking – this place we call home is a historical treasure chest full of surprises, hidden gems of the past discovered – to be re-discovered in discovering ourselves and each other. It is a beautiful terrain to explore identity and identification shaped and shifted by migrations and journeys through time, and by evolutionary minds.
