George was born in Hascombe, Godalming in 1892. Son of Henry and Harriet Stenning. Henry was employed as a general labourer.
George enlisted in the 63rd Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery. There was no record of his residence at the time of enlisting.
George was killed in action on the 27th of April, 1917. He has no known grave. His name is inscribed on the Arras Memorial in France.
