Thank you to Bernice Forsyth and Mary Day from Capel Local History Group for allowing Dorking Museum to publish their research.

Arthur, according to his service record, was born in Charlwood on 6th August, 1888. The 1901 census for Chailey Industrial School (probably a Borstal) includes Arthur William Tullet, age 12, occupation given as scholar/farm boy. (The school was in West Sussex.) His parents, Frederick and Mary do not appear on any census returns.

He was subsequently injured and died of his wounds on the 3rd of November, 1918 in Shotley Naval Hospital. He is buried in the churchyard in Capel.
