Percy William Lipscomb was born in the 3rd quarter of 1896 in Brighton, Sussex.
He was son of William Henry and Lucy Lipscomb of 6 Clifton Hill, Brighton.
Percy was part of the 1st Battalion Prince Albert´s (Somerset Light Infantry). His regimental number was 235005 and he was a private. Percy enlisted at Salisbury, Wiltshire; and at the time of enlistment lived at Holmwood, Surrey.
His previous regiment was the 1/4th Hampshire Regiment (regimental number 3050). Percy entered the Asiatic Theatre of War on 13th March 1915.
Percy was later killed in action on 3rd May 1917 in France. He is commemorated at the Arras Memorial in France on Bay 4.
Percy’s father William received soldiers effects of £9, 5s and 8d.
Percy was awarded with the British and Victory medals and the 1915 Star.
