Dorking Local History Group Talk

On Monday 1st June at 7.15pm – Dorking Local History Group present their monthly talk – which this month is “The Vanishing River of Box Hill” by Peter Brown.

It will be live on Zoom – and can be accessed through Surrey Meet Up. You’ll need to request membership in advance of the event – which you can do through the link below.

Laurence Olivier Plaque turns 30

On May 22nd 1990, the Dorking Society and Mole Valley District Council unveiled a plaque to Laurence Olivier at 26 Wathen Road, where Olivier was born and lived for the first three years of his life. His father Gerard Olivier was the curate of St. Martin’s Church. Tarquin Olivier, the son of Laurence, attended the ceremony.
