Arthur Cannon was born in Westcott, Surrey, the son of George Cannon, of Westcott; and of Minnie Cannon, of 1, Redroof Cottage, Hooley, Coulsdon, Surrey. Arthur worked on the Tillingbourne Estate.
At the time of joining up gave his address as Guildford, Surrey. He was a member of The East Surrey Regiment, regimental number – 202992. He enlisted at Guildford.
He was killed in action on 19th July 1917 and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France.
