Harry was born in Capel in 1882. His parents were David and Annie Mitchell. They lived at 56 The Street. His father was a bricklayer.
Sometime before the outbreak of war Harry married Mary Ada, when he enlisted his address was 71 Gosberton Road, Balham, London. Harry enlisted in the 9th Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers.
Harry was killed in action on the 3rd of May 1917. He has no known grave. His name is inscribed on the Arras Memorial in France.
